How we now use OKRs to run a better business

And we're still learning of course

OKRs
Objectives and Key Results

We’ve all heard of them.
They sound good on paper but can be tricky to implement.

In fact, we used them incorrectly for a few months!

At Wavect, we prioritize our process to ensure the best results for our clients, so we decided to re-evaluate our OKRs.

And that’s when we discovered we were doing it all wrong.

In this blog post, we’ll share how we’re now using OKRs effectively.

This is what we changed to (hopefully) make it work.

πŸ‘‰ Key results need to be measurable and include a number.

πŸ‘‰ Our team members must set their key results, and regularly check their progress to stay committed.

πŸ‘‰ Key results must be outcome-oriented, not activity-focused.
Outcome-oriented: book 5 new calls.
Activity-focused: spend 30 minutes doing outreach.

πŸ‘‰ Key results should be stretch goals.
We aim to achieve around 80% of our goals.
If we achieve more than 80%, we’re not aiming high enough.

πŸ‘‰ Day to day activities that map to your OKRs should be prioritized.

πŸ‘‰ We ensure the whole team understands why we’re having OKRs.
This removes bureaucracy instead of introducing it.

𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚π₯𝐒𝐠𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 = π₯𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐒𝐜𝐀𝐞𝐭𝐬.

These are only some of the strategies we deploy as we build Wavect into a leading software brand in web3.

And we’re always looking to improve so we will be sure to keep you updated. Hopefully, you can learn from our journey πŸ™‚Β
